12 February 1828. Zulu attack on Voortrekkers after execution of Piet retief. The Zulus were repelled. Restored Vortrekker house on site. Follow Alfred Street in Estcourt, past quarry, and across stream. Memorial at fork in dirt road. Open daily.

17 February 1838. Young Martinus Oosthuysen courageously saved three Voortrekker families from Zulu attack. On a private farm between Estcourt and Mooi River. Arrange visit at Fort Durnford.

Site of three day attack by Zulus on Voortrekkers' laager (13-15 February 1838). Actual site is now beneath Wagendrift Dam. Diorama explains battle, shows Voortrekkers' battle tactics. From Estcourt follow signs to Wagendrit Dam.
